ABOUT US
Alaga Australia Disability Care Services is a proud Filipino family-owned company dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality support for individuals living with disabilities.
The word "Alaga" is a Filipino term that means "to take care of" or "under the care of." We chose this name because it reflects our deep cultural values and commitment to caregiving. By using a word from our heritage, we want people to know that our services are built on the well-known Filipino reputation for warmth, dedication, and going the extra mile for others.
Filipinos are globally recognized for their strong work ethic and caring nature—especially in healthcare and support services. At Alaga Australia, we embrace this legacy wholeheartedly. We treat every client like family, ensuring they feel seen, respected, and genuinely cared for. But more importantly, we welcome and care for people from all walks of life—regardless of race, background, or culture. Our team includes support workers from different cultural backgrounds who share the same core values of respect, empathy, and commitment to quality care. While our roots are Filipino, our heart is universal.
Whether you're looking for everyday assistance, specialized support, or just a friendly, familiar face—you’ll find genuine care and connection here at Alaga Australia.

Cheryl
Hi, I’m Cheryl, the founder of Alaga Australia. I am a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from both the Philippines and the University of Canberra, Australia. My early nursing career began in a military air force hospital in the Philippines, where I gained valuable experience in providing care under high-pressure environments.
I also hold a Certificate IV in Disability, a Diploma in Community Services, and Advanced Leadership Diploma. Currently, I am completing my Master of Business to strengthen my leadership and service management skills.
Outside of work, I’m a licensed skipper and dedicate my Sundays to volunteer work with para rowers, helping create opportunities for inclusion and community connection. These experiences reflect my belief in living with purpose, resilience, and compassion, which I bring into every aspect of Alaga Australia.

Hi, I’m Simon, part of the team at Alaga Australia. I graduated in the Philippines with a Bachelor of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Computer Science. With a strong foundation in technology, I enjoy exploring innovative ways to support people and make life easier through smart, practical solutions.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about photography, astronomy, and drone flying (UAV/FPV building and flying). I’m also a licensed skipper and an active volunteer with the Para Rowing Club, where I enjoy contributing to an inclusive and supportive community.
Adventurous at heart, I spend much of my free time outdoors — capturing moments through the lens, exploring nature, and embracing new challenges.
